A 6-foot pressure-treated pine privacy fence typically costs $35–42 per linear foot installed, including materials and labor. A 100' fence with one gate runs approximately $3,985. Prices vary based on terrain, access, and optional features like additional gates or post caps.
Most residential fence projects are completed in 1–3 days depending on length and site conditions. A standard 100' fence on flat ground is typically installed in a single day. We handle permits and material delivery so there are no delays.
We use #2 grade ground-contact pressure-treated pine for posts and above-ground treated pine for rails and pickets. All lumber is rated for outdoor use and backed by a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. This warranty protects the original owner against structural failure caused by fungal decay or termite damage, but it does not cover labor, installation costs, or natural characteristics like splitting, warping, or shrinkage.
Yes — we handle all permitting as part of our service. A $100 permit fee is included in your estimate when required by your city. We serve Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and Suffolk.
You may not need a permit if all three apply: (1) your lot is an interior lot (not corner), (2) you do not have a pool, and (3) you are replacing an existing fence in the same location. If any of these do not apply — corner lot, pool on property, or new fence location — a permit is required and the $100 fee is added to your estimate. Our calculator automatically checks this for you.
Site surveys are not included in this estimate. They are specific to each lot and may be required by your city or HOA to verify exact property lines. If a survey is needed, we will confirm during your site visit and coordinate separately. Most residential fence projects on established lots do not require a new survey.
Posts are set 36 inches deep in concrete footings (two 50lb bags per post). This exceeds local code requirements and ensures your fence withstands coastal wind loads and shifting soil.
Yes — we provide a 2-year workmanship warranty on all installations. The pressure-treated lumber carries a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty that protects the original owner against structural failure caused by fungal decay or termite damage, but it does not cover labor, installation costs, or natural characteristics like splitting, warping, or shrinkage.
